Twitter Interview Episode One: @kanye

Hello everyone.

This is Caleb here, and I’ve started a series for some reason where I interview people from twitter. As you may know, twitter is awful and tweets are often so performative you wonder if some of the tweets on there were generated by robots. The boring non-sex robots.

Anyway, this interview is pretty short because I already know Reggie. He’s probably one of my first twitter friends. I’m including some dumb content between us to make up for how short the interview is.

Like the time we decided which Dragonball Z character got the biggest dick

Or there’s the time Reggie dissed me in a song and paid for RTs when he tweeted it…

Or the time I owned him completely

As you can see, Reggie has a dumb and wacky history. And also he doesn’t know how to use funds properly.

One of my favorite tweets by Reggie is this one:

Sometimes he can make good tweets.

I asked Reggie what his favorite tweet by him is, this was his response:

Reggie:

Me: Tweet trash but thanks

Reggie: Fuck you

Reggie: It’s good

If you say so.

I asked Reggie more questions:

Any noticeable differences between having @kanye as your twitter display name pre-maga and post-maga Kanye?

Reggie: There’s two different phases of the maga ye alliance

Reggie: There was the warm up when niggas like me and you probably were sweatin when ye went public with his support which was like two years ago

Reggie: Then there was when he really got plugged in with Candace Owens and TP USA. That’s when he got the conservative blog machine working for him. And immediately after that my mentions have never been the same

Reggie: I can’t compare any specific gap of time over the last 4 years where there’s been this much buzz constantly. Back in the day if he did something news worthy or was buzzing it would linger for a few days or weeks max

Reggie: But this maga alliance shit? So different. The conservative press machine and the people who share their links are relentless. They make the traffic I’ve gotten from actually organic ye fans seem like nothing in comparison

Reggie: Any follow up questions to what I’ve said?

Me: Nah. That was pretty detailed.

Note: By that I meant “God damn nigga, I’m not reading all that shit. It’s 2018. Our attention spans are like 9 seconds now. This nigga done wrote a whole essay. Good answer nonetheless tho

If you could fuck any cartoon, which one?

Reggie wishes he was Lilo in this pic (same)

Had to ask this, since this is a pretty popular subject on twitter. And by popular subject, I mean one I discuss a lot on my personal TL.

Reggie: Nani from Lilo and Stitch with the qualifier that age is adjusted to reflect the 15 years since the movie came out. A Mid 30s Nani tho… Could you imagine? I think I may have to commission an art over this for my own personal research purposes.

Me: Good answer

Note: Surprisingly

If cartoons became real, would your girlfriend give you an exception since this like a one in a lifetime opportunity?

Reggje on the left

Reggie: I’m saving my potential once in a lifetime pass for Michelle Obama and no one else

Me: Damn cucking Barack sound kinda fire

One of the most weird things you ever jerked off to?

Reggie: In a pinch, I may resort to goin off my own memory of prior porns I’ve seen which is the only thing that comes to mind that I feel is fair to call “weird” .

Me: I need details

Reggie: You’re trying to trick me into incidentally kink shaming. Nice try.

Fuck. He’s right.

What’s an issue you think is often overlooked in the “discourse” or just a random issue you care about?

Twitter social justice discourse

Reggie: There’s an inherent flaw in the way that The Discourse operates that I don’t think many folks are aware of. From the outside looking in, it can be hard to discern the difference between an OG in the field and a Full Time Network Marketing ass mf who has just so happen to have chosen The Discourse as their medium.

Reggie: Many OGs don’t have the time or energy to constantly engage with an ever growing audience and many of the people with the energy to do that are by no means OGs.

Me: That’s real. Woke capitalism basically

I feel Reggie on this one. A lot of people who do the social justice and #resistance discourse be in this shit for the clout alone, it feels. It’s too lucrative. (clout wise, not money wise. but sometimes money too.)

Fuck, Marry Kill: rock, paper, scissors?

Reggie: Fuck paper, kill scissors, marry rock

That’s all for Episode 1 of my Twitter Interviews series. I hope you enjoyed that short interview. I’ll interview anyone willing to get interviewed, though I prefer to do mutuals for the first few episodes for the sake of comfort. Feel free to nominate twitter users regardless. I was pretty soft on Reggie here, but I have a lot of questions ready to ask future folks.

We did this interview over DM, but I’m willing to do it over voice or something like that (I’d still transcribe it to text in the end though)

Thanks for reading.
